I’m beginning to feel like going to Costco in August is a bad idea for us. Exactly one year ago today, we went to Costco for one thing, and walked out after paying over $400. Most of that was for a new camera we bought on the spur of the moment. We did need it though, I was 9 months pregnant and our old one was terrible. I went into labour the next evening.
Today we went to Costco to pick up some goodies for the barbecue we’re hosting next weekend. Costco was hosting a two week deal with a local guy who sells hammocks. This same guy was at the organic & sustainability expo we went to a couple of weeks ago, and we were pretty close to buying one of his hammocks then. We both have really wanted one, Kris especially. The guy told us Costco only marks them up about 5-8% above his cost, so they were half the price of normal. To give us credit, we didn’t immediately snatch it up. We wandered off and discussed it. We’re really trying to get out of debt, get rid of “stuff”, and save up a down deposit for a house. But we did end up getting one. Hopefully it will turn out to be a good purchase that we get a lot of use out of. We spent the afternoon with the three of us cuddling in it until Meredith got bored, then Kris and I laid in it while she wandered around the yard and played. Very comfortable, easy to breastfeed in, and will be great for camping too.

Kris brought it inside and she hasn’t wanted to get out of it since.

Love it and it looks so comfortable. That last picture is the best! I also love Meredith’s amber necklace. The multicoloured is so purty on her!
I love her necklace too. She gets complimented all the time on it. The hammock has been great so far. I’m wondering if it would be safe to let her nap in it (alone) while I garden or whatnot. I could definitely see me nursing her to sleep in there while I read a book or sleep next to her though.
AW I love hammocks!! That one looks super comfortable, maybe when I visit i’ll just sleep in there the whole time
