Snapshot Sunday

Snapshot Sunday is something Sarah debuted back in November. From her blog:

Thought I’d try something new, so I’m debuting Snapshot Sunday. I’m not really creative with names. What I’ll do is walk through my life at the moment – wherever I am, whatever I’m doing and take five snapshots. No people, no arranging, no cleaning up. Sometimes captions, sometimes not. “This is my life. Right now.”

I think it’s a neat idea, but every Sunday I either forget, or just get really busy, and I haven’t managed to join in yet. But this week I managed to find the time and even got the pictures uploaded. So without further ado, here is my contribution.

One of Meredith’s favorite toys, out and ready to be played with. This toy is rarely put away, even when she’s not playing with it. If she sees us try, she will go and get it out again.

I bought an aloe vera because I wanted an easy to care for plant I couldn’t kill. And I got it! This thing is indestructible. The cat knocks it off the window ledge at least once a week and each time it loses a little more dirt. Eventually I feel sorry for it and fill it up with more again. It’s been a while, I can see it’s getting low. Meredith used to like to take dirt out too and wander around the house sprinkling dirt. I thought she was over that, but then I noticed in the art table picture there is dirt on the table…

Meredith’s friend Abhy was over the other day making pancakes (one of his favorite things). They’re still sitting on the oven where he left them.

I had to include a picture of our brand new oven we got yesterday. :) Yes, that is a Christmas dish towel. For some reason most of our dish towels are Christmas ones so we use them year round.

Hopefully I’ll be able to do this every week. It was kind of fun wandering around the house with a camera trying to decide what to snap pictures of.

“It is absurd and anti-life to be a part of a system that compels you to listen to a stranger reading poetry when you want to learn to construct buildings, or to sit with a stranger discussing the construction of buildings when you want to read poetry.”
