As it is, for the most part we plan to just continue on the way we always have been: living life and letting her explore and play to her heart’s content. We’re going to Calgary at the end of the summer for my sister’s wedding, and so we thought we’d go to the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller while we’re there. Looking around the site at all the cool programs and camps they have [...]  I had wanted to keep up with the weekly Unplugged projects, but through the summer we spent a lot of time outdoors and it fell to the wayside. This last week Meredith wasn’t feeling well and had no interest in going outside, getting dressed, or really doing much besides cuddling on the [...]  We found a wasp nest in the forest last week. I think it is a paper wasp nest. I’ve put it in the bathroom over the heater for now to dry out. Eventually once Meredith’s room is done I’d like to make a shelf in there to put things like that on. When we [...]  Meredith was loving A Bug’s Life for a while, so a few weeks ago Kris drew her an anthill covered in ants. Then a few days ago she wanted ants drawn again, and of course he complied. I know some parents worry if you don’t force a kid to learn, they won’t know anything, but there is so much already that Meredith has learned on her own that I’m not concerned.
