Annie shared this over on her blog recently. I found the video very touching and poignant. Though the video is about oil and a very specific part of Canada, a lot of what she says applies to other areas of our country as well. My dad once flew over Vancouver Island in a helicopter to go fishing, and he was struck by the amount of bare land on the island. He was told that the loggers keep the areas beside highways fully forested, but that much of the rest of our little island has been logged pretty heavily. So sad. This video almost makes me want to move somewhere even more rural and remote.
