Happy Birthday Fiona!

birthday01

Yesterday we celebrated Fiona’s birthday. I can’t believe my tiny little baby is already a year old. Time sure flies now that I’m a mom. Wasn’t this just yesterday?

We had a good day. We had considered going out and doing something, like we did for Meredith’s first, but the weather [...]

When life gives you lemons…

Make lemonade! Or in this case, when your three year old very proudly makes you breakfast all by herself:

Add some berries and make a smoothie (but take the bay leaf out first ).

Though I would suggest making sure you know exactly what’s in “breakfast” first. The one Meredith made [...]

Wordless Wednesday: Project 365

Nom nom nom

A couple of snapshots from the last few days:

Have I ever actually been wordless for one of these? Probably not. But I thought a post that highlights photos was a good time to talk about photos. I meant to participate in Project 365 last [...]

Happy Holidays!

blog01

It has been a busy couple of weeks for us. We moved on the 18th, and then Christmas the next weekend. I haven’t found myself with much time for blogging. We’ve been enjoying being in our new house though. Oddly, it doesn’t feel all that different to me. Our friends we spend the most [...]

Wordless Wednesday: Best Friends

With two days to go until possession, I can’t help but wonder how these two are going to take moving so far apart.

We hope to still see them often, but it will be so different. We’ll lose the spontaneity and almost every day contact we have now.

[...]

Wordless Wednesday: Snow!

SnowDay01

We didn’t really get snow last year, so she was thrilled to see it and wanted to go out in the backyard. I was surprised how long she was happy out there, considering that we don’t have a lot of snow gear for her. (It just doesn’t snow enough!) That will [...]

Sisters

I love watching my girls play and grow together. Meredith delights in finding new ways to get Fiona laughing, and of course Fiona adores Meredith and loves to laugh with her. Sometimes Meredith is frustrated by how much Fiona wants to follow her around and see what she’s doing, but often [...]

Driveway

Well, we have a conditional offer accepted on that property, which means I’ve been busy. Busier than I’d anticipated: setting up inspections, talking to our banker, arranging things with our realtor… It’s nice to be busy though, it keeps me from being terrified about this huge amount of money.

“It is as true now as it was then that no matter what tests show, very little of what is taught in school is learned, very little of what is learned is remembered, and very little of what is remembered is used. The things we learn, remember, and use are the things we seek out or meet in the daily, serious, nonschool parts of our lives.”
